Title----What she’s got----By Allan P Stevens
-
She got diamonds on her fingers
Fancy shoes upon her feet
Smell of her perfume lingers
As she walks along the street
-
Clothes made from silky threads
Blonde highlights in her curls
Once she shared my humble bed
Now she lives in another world
-
She’s climbed up to the top
In the big house on the hill
Learned to use what she’s got
As the rich man pays the bill
-
Chauffeured car with rag top down
Spending cash all over town
Evening parties, fine ball gowns
Rich men lay their money down
Always knew she had such class
Natural beauty is unsurpassed
I recall the way she laughed
The love we had could never last
-
She’s climbed up to the top
In the big house on the hill
Learned to use what she’s got
As the rich man pays the bill
-
Raised up in an old wood shack
She hardly ever went to school
Daddy died from smoking crack
Mama treated her like a fool
-
Now she’s up there riding high
On top of rich that man’s world
A gentle teardrop clouds my eye
For the time she was my girl
-
She’s climbed up to the top
In the big house on the hill
Learned to use what she’s got
As the rich man pays the bill
-
She’s climbed up to the top
And, I wish her the best of luck
-
