Sweet Love of Mine ©

1st Verse:

I remember the first time that I laid eyes on you, I could see the heart of a warrior princess, bright eyes with intestinal fortitude, and so well aware of everything going on around you,
Confidence dripped from your wings, for you knew the way to a brighter day, my eyes could see that your lock could hold my key, to opening up all of the secret treasures found inside of me,
And as time went on you meshed with me oh so well, “unconditionally and with no misunderstandings,” and “for where the sun rise’s and for where the sun sets,” oh what a story we had to tell,
But somewhere in our fairy tale, the cold winter winds blew in, “and what a cold show,” it was that left me needing and wanting my best friend, and just when things were tore up and wouldn’t go our way, you went away somewhere else to heal your DNA,

Chorus:

Sweet love of mine, how could you leave me and go away, in the middle of our nursery rhyme, left me with all of this tore up DNA,
Sweet love of mine, you never did promise me that you would stay, for I pulled down a star from the heavens just for you, when our love was right on time,

2nd Verse:

I lay here in this bed, with thoughts of you on my mind, and all that I have to think about are those happy times, those were the days when, “the Besenji”s cried,” tears of joy, “when we cruised down the Nile,” and elevated our minds,
For the sun rises in the east and it sets in the west, and, “from the steps of our dojo to our home made of adobe,” together we are the very best in the east and in the west,
And somewhere in my heart, and somewhere in my mind, I believe that I will lay eyes on you again, “for the very first time,” and if love is truly blind, then I can’t see, how our fairy tale has been wasted away in herstory and in history, maybe then I can have it all my way, maybe then you will heal my DNA,
But you never promised me, that even though you held the lock that could hold my key, that one day there would be a piece of you, and a piece of me, running around for the world to see, happy and free, making the two of us, three,

Chorus:

Sweet love of mine, it looks like you have chosen to stay, and bless this fairy tale, as you heal my DNA,
Sweet love of mine, I’m looking forward to a brighter day, before we surrender to the stars, and replace the love that I took away,

Sweet love of mine …
