Grinagen Finnegan

poem by: Keith Jepson

I searched for my teeth everywhere
in the kitchen and up the stairs,
in the lounge and the hall,
even the shelves up on the wall,
I am lost without them it's no laughing matter,
if it's too cold to talk I just let my teeth chatter,
I even asked my dog "Have you seen them, Finn?"
but all he gave was a big toothy grin.
I had to look twice, Finn didn't look right, that big toothy
grin gave me a hell of a fright
I could not put a finger on what I had seen,
So carried on looking in
places I'd been,
Wuff barked Finn, "shall I give you a hand?
I replied "Thank you Finn that would be grand,
He followed me around with that big toothy smile,
'til I gave up the search and sat for a while,
Again I looked at Finn and my eye's
were agog,
What was so different about my little dog?
Finn smiled again and gave me a wink,
Wuff he said, I found these by the kitchen sink,
Then with a large grin, he took out
my teeth,
Wuff wuff he said,
you should be more careful Keith.
