The Turn of a New Year
NOTE: I had actually forgotten about this one!!!!!
As we GATHER TOGETHER
once Again,
To bid FAREWELL,
For, this YEAR is to an END!!
As we SIT and we PONDER
on the TIMES we had,
Some times were good
and some times were bad!!!
Twenty-twenty-three has
come to a close,
What twenty-four has in store
Only the Good Lord knows!!
We have Laughed and we have Cried,
we have Cheered and we have Sighed,
Twenty-three has been PLENTIFUL,
but now we are saying GOODBYE!!!
GOODBYE to the HURTS,
GOODBYE to the PAINS,
SAD for the LOSSES and
GRATEFUL for the GAINS,
We have had UPS and DOWNS,
SMILES and FROWNS,
LONELY DAYS and NIGHTS, and
BELOVED ONES ALL AROUND!!!!
BABIES were BORN and
LOVE ONES were LOST,
TWENTY-THREE was HECTIC, and
WE ALL PAID THE COST!!!
But that is OK
we will be ALRIGHT!!
MY FORESIGHT for TWENTY-THREE,
PRAYING it will be OUT OF SIGHT!!!
There are so many
BLESSINGS that are in STORE,
So, FAREWELL to TWENTY-THREE, and
Let's WELCOME
TWENTY-TWENTY-FOUR!!!!
