Embers

poem by: D'Vina Dietrich
Written on Apr 24, 2015

So much love burned in her chest,
So she shared with all.
They could not get enough,
They used her.
To nice, oblivious of the fact
She continued, ignoring it all.
Until this evil came around
He drained of all the warmth.
Used ever bit to his pleasure.
Seduced her with his sly tongue
To leave her alone in the cold
Now in her chest, remains embers
Of a once fiery heart.
Icy chills torment her
She feels used up and tired
No one looked at her the same
She felt like no one will ever love her.
Until one day...
A man came around
Whose heart bared the same fiery love
Radiating through out him
He was beautiful.
She felt he would not want her
Yet she didn't know he was so..
Drawn to her.
A cold beauty he saw
"She's so gorgeous, so hurt
What kind of monster could do this?"
So he followed the icy trail.
His hand found hers
Ice chipped off
His arms wrapped around her
She felt so much heat
Shaking, its been so long
Embers began to spark
Then all at once he kissed her.
Fire flared throughout her body
She couldn't help but smile.
Reignited her fire he did
Brought back her warmth.
Together they blazed.
Their love together,
Stronger then no other.
Some tried to interfere,
They were to powerful,
And together they
Burned forever.
Taking about love to those in need,
Changing the world.
Engulfing it in their warmth.
A fire that will burn for eternity.
Love.

This is very good D'Vina. I love happy ending. Lovely.

Very nice and well put. I can relate to 'being used' by the vultures of society that sit and wait for those willing to give, share, and feel. Vultures that rip the meat from the bones then leave - laughing and sneering. Am I close in my perceptions of your write? Nice write.
