The Hallow Reel

poem by: Eireann O'Kane
Written on Feb 07, 2016

Her voice it sang to the heavens beyond

Free me from this void of falling

Please wont you answer my calling

Her voice it sank, “please respond..”

A hole so deep, no one could cover

A mind so trapped, no one would discover

She thought of her past, the hallow reel

unwinding the path she couldn't conceal

To herself as well as the world

She wished she could hide from her soul

Until now she had done so well

No one knew what she felt

Observing the world inside out

Seeing things no one else could understand

Grasping at thoughts beyond all hope

Brushing on thoughts with which no one could cope

Confusion, delusion...it's all an illusion.

No one will ever understand.
