The Devils Drink

poem by: Debby Airhart
Written on Mar 15, 2016

The pull to be near was intoxicating.
And the more I tried to resist.
the deeper I drank you in.
Drunk on moon shine kisses
the haze in my eyes
Hid the devil in yours.
I erred on the edge of oblivion
Blurring the lines between heaven and hell
I crossed a lake of fire for one more glimpse
Of a razor toothed angelic smile.
