Indigenous Road

poem by: Kelly Wood

I seen dreams at the edge of a rainbow
and followed vision's where I was lead to go
to where I stood once long ago

I walked a journey down a Indigenous man's road
where Ancestor's stories were now left for me to be told

I felt the beat of a Warrior's drum
where Spirit's danced as now for me they come
to learn of things they would show

I heard the sound of Thunder across an Indigenous man's sky
as Ancestor's would reach for me
to teach me ways of their wisdom
in a world left behind for me to hold

I looked through the eye's of an Eagle fly
as our Spirit's forever soared high
bound together as one in Unity

With a Wolves heart beating through my soul
I touched Mother Earth and now I'm free
as my path laid ahead for what I would become

Lovely poem Kelly....I love the history of the American Indian tribes.....but hated the way they were forced off their own land.....
