I sat lonely, in some dark corner As though I was an old, widowed, mourner. Time moved slow. Life in front of me was a simple glow, Of some distant memory Where you sat so near, Or that tuneful melody I'd always hear. The song was gone. And, so were you. I didn't belong In this world so blue Or a place that existed, Without you. My mind was misted. Unclear on how to think, But life got better with the more I'd drink. Drink turned to violence and violence, to hate. An emotion so powerful And one, so great. I set out for the day With cold knife of fate. Looking for that place That would finally make, A perfect setting for the pain to stop And to be reborn, through one, swift chop.
