Depression Has Ended

Why did this happen?
Why did it happen to you is the issue
Depression has happened
It crept up and unmasked itself as your eyes started to dampen

It could've happened to him or her
It is like you are on a path for disaster
Others' opinions are your masters
Your heart feels like it doesn't matter

You try to run away from the feelings of depression
That's just how it gets stronger
You are now its possession
You are not your own master

You wouldn't dare to look depression in the eye
You did once and then his friends sadness and rage made you want to die
You want to look up
But you are afraid that you will just be dropped down again into the dump

Freedom calls from the other side
To its walls you want to abide
Freedom is a place that will let anyone in
As long that they have conquered their fears and have thrown them in the bin

You want to go and hide from depression and even from your own self
But depression scares you as a whole
You try to sneak by it like an underground mole
Depression stomps you to near death and your heart is left with a hole

You realize what you have to do
Throw away your chains and get rid of your boundaries
When Depression comes, don't answer its inquiries
You just have to move

You knock on freedom's doors and they are opened wide
Here for the rest of your life you will hopefully abide
Your heart has mended
And depression has ended

This is a lovely poem well written with depth. Depression is a problem big time.all over the world It shows its face in all shapes and forms. On a positive it can be beat on.
Mac Daddy commented:
Curious timing but a subject well known by the majority! I found it quite real.
commented:
Depression is all too real within our minds and yet full of lies. Dreadful to deal with overall. 😞 Expressing one's self in poetry does provide some relief.

I have read all your poems and found then to be intriguing. Poets express what they see and feel and you write a good view of yourself. 'Mirror' reminds me of my untitled work. You are a strong person, like your poetry. Good works.
