The Secret You Gave Me

poem by: Theresa Taylor
Written on Jun 23, 2016

Nothing I do will change what's done
All my mascara lines
Cannot turn back time
Believe me I've tried
We were more than half way there
There's a scarlet scar where you touched me
Invisible to them
But it haunts me here
I've become what I thought I'd never be
Monster
Now we both hurt
And we will never be free
