Whatever It Takes

poem by: Theresa Taylor
Written on Jul 07, 2016

I'm not as perfect as I seem
You see, my life has not been a dream
But I will not be painted by my past
It consumed me with fire and I have risen from the ash
You say Pigeon, I say Phoenix
Gravity cannot hold me from my destinies zenith
Despite these battles I've found peace
Counting the little miracles life has given me on lease
I've stopped treading water and now I drink wine
I banish the clouds and breath sunshine
If you can see past my mistakes, not slam on the brakes
I promise to love you, whatever it takes
