Lonely leaf

poem by: Stephen Westerland
Written on Jul 13, 2016

I watched a leaf
Fall to the ground
Floating in the wind
Not even a sound
Sailing smoothly
As it made it’s way down
Weightless and free
The leaf was all brown
No burdens or heaviness
And no heavy load
It came to a halt
As it landed on the road
Finally at peace
A breeze blows it away
Till another comes along
And starts a new day
Where did it come from
Or where did it go
To make room for a new leaf
To sprout and to grow.

Very good, you obviously love nature.
Stephen Westerland commented:
I just see things and use them as an inspiration for my poems. Most of my poetry is life experiences and from my beautiful and supportive wife.
