Son’s Confession

poem by: Tony Anderson
Written on Jul 25, 2016

Father I am just a man
No matter how I try
I am only who I am
I am sorry for what I’ve done
I took my life and threw it away

It’s to late
The deed is done
I’ve destroyed all my life
Put it through so much strife
My world has come apart
I can feel the darkness
Far down inside my heart
My world is like the sand
The wind has blown it across this land

Father I leave you now
I know you still love me
I just do not see how

With all I’ve put you through
I have caused much destruction
I know I’m your son
That was back
When my life had begun
