Sweet Freedom

poem by:
Written on Aug 30, 2016

It's the middle of the night, morning to be exact,
My thoughts are reminiscing, and none will I retract.
The day I cursed you, or was it the ideology per se'?
That led me to this place, and it is here I will stay.
Reality has replaced my dreams, steady as she goes,
Balanced the bow of my ship, released my greatest woes.
An open mind leads to freedom, a sound I love to hear,
Looking to find the truth, and relinquishing all prior fear.
Honesty has set me free indeed, a lesson I have learned,
I've turned over a new leaf, as each new page is now turned.

Thanks Kate. Self acceptance is a rough endeavor, but I'm closing in on the gap 😊

I have read all of your poetry and I like it. It leaves me wondering is this really you or is it all a disguise. Thoughts of suicide, divorce, searching for the meaning of life, all this I see in your poetry. Good works.

No disguise here Q. All real and straight from the heart. Life is difficult and expression through words is a positive form of relief.

Lovely poem Michael and I agree with every word you say. Expression through words is very much a positive form of relief.

Thanks Christopher.

However we express our ourselves, it is a release and helps with the healing process... well written.
