Nuclear Winter

poem by:

Time stood still, like it never had before,
Something would kill, and no one could ignore.
The mushroom cloud did rise, high into the air,
No more vision in eyes, as all life did disappear.
Just ashes and dust, nothing else did still remain,
An earth with molten crust, instantly with no pain.
Ideologies of man died too, as nothing ever meant a thing,
And the skies no longer blue, church bells would no longer ring.
No more hearing babies crying, as all earthly sounds had disappeared,
Entire population instantly dying, reality of what had been feared.

Well written poem.I hope the doomsday people have got it wrong.
commented:
Thanks Christopher. No worries; I don't pay any heed to the doomsday people. The truth is we have only the present regardless of what we think. Yesterday is gone, and tomorrow never happens.
