Who the heck am I?

poem by: Tonya Fischer
Written on Oct 17, 2013

Where have I wandered
My name
I can't recall
Lost in this place
in plain sight of all
Do I belong here
Please,I've no one to call
Maybe just maybe
I'm not here at all

This existence feels real
In a tangible way
Can't pull up a history
I am Jane Doe today

Yet speaking comes easy
My eyes see
I think it's fall
Now I get it insanity
claiming me after all

your poem describes very realistically what someone would go through with amnesia, well done Tonya

"If you don't know who you are......why are ya asking me?."........I'm joking of course......but if you don't laugh...you cry, ....and I have experience of a family member with dementia....and most of the time, ...you cry.....good poem though...
