My Transparent Prison

poem by: KayleighMarie Fitzgerald

Welcome to my chamber of darkness
It's tainted with the stench of regret
Be careful not to lose your head
Cause you've not seen the worst of it yet

Where envy lies deep in the shadows
It is stalked very closely by greed
Hate poisons all that it touches
The emptiness will surely suceed

My spark in certainely fading
A little more with every day
Yet desire seems to flourish
In the most solemn kind of way

There's no evidence of any real prospects
Or ambitions, so to speak
And my motivation is lacking
The fight inside me is weak

So delve deep down into my soul
To see what you may find
But always keep your guard up
Just keep that in mind

So now I'm content with my troubles
To the point where I feel at ease
But my thoughts remind me of quicksand
So try stay away from me please
