Canary

Canary

Oh cheeky chappy
Darting around in flash of yellow
lightly go sprightly
Oh feathered cello

How you lighten my day
with your flashing ray
Oh how I love your morning sing
While flying on the wing

Resplendent in colour
In flight of fancy fine
How on gods earth
We're you allowed down the mine

thank you

Lovely poem Martyn I liked the twist at the end of your poem.

Thank you Christopher. A fact of life was that miners took canaries down the mines to check if poisonous gases were afoot before going in themselves
