Fiona

OOOOH Fiona
If only I could fly
to America
to Cinncinnati
to your Zoo......

Fiona the adorable
the prem baby hippo
I don't do much now
and tend to witness life
rather than live it:
but finding you
on the internet
has made me weep
at the sheer wonder
that is you.

Too little to be with your mum
hand reared by humans
you play in the sprinklers
you have cuddly toys
my favourite part is when
you walk on your back legs
in the water - how cute!

You smiled...and I knew
 that you understand
 that the humans love you
I'll watch you grow
but never forget
your first wobbly steps :
Fiona I love you too.
