I Want To Fly

poem by: Candace Cox
Written on Jan 18, 2014

I want to fly
I'm so tired
Of living life
Here on the ground

I want to fly
Into space
Get lost
Never get found

I want to fly
"No"
I hear it again
For the ninth round

I want to fly
And I'm leaving
With a leap
In a jubilant bound.

George McLaren commented:
You have a beautiful spirit, trapped between here, on the ground, and there, up above and beyond. Through the pain of death I have been blessed by being allowed to experience "there" while "here". And all I have to do is let go and be still. And it's so beautiful, Candace. thank you for your beautiful poetry. George
