Shall We Dance

poem by: Julius Brian Cruz
Written on Sep 29, 2017

The softly blowing winds, to a person who touched my heart.
And below this grey fall sky, a lovely poem I want to start.
With a worn out pencil, I began to whisper love.
At the end of an empty day, a little present for you to have

Upon this beautiful evening, shall we dance my dear?
Let me hold you closer, a few inches from my ear.
We'll sway from left to right, from there to here.
So smile for me now, and enjoy the melodies we hear.

A scene that's quite familiar, don't you agree?
The first day we met, upon a beautiful balcony.
Nervously I approached you, as you smiled so prettily.
And ever since then, I became yours permanently.

So never worry my dear, even though time has passed quickly.
Cause from yesterday till today, you're still the most lovely.
And for the rest of our days, always a question for you to hear.
Upon this beautiful evening, Shall We Dance my dear?....

Empty Thoughts
