Madness

poem by: Allan P Stevens

-
I cannot describe my feelings
When you said the things you said
Sometimes I fell back reeling
From the hatred inside your head
-
I cannot explain my sorrow
For the confusion in your brain
Wished I could fix it all tomorrow
End the anger, end your pain
-
But, life was never that simple
You had your cross to bear
Your soul was trapped in limbo
With nobody around to care
-
I cannot tell you my heartache
As you cried, oh how you cried
Sometimes I looked on in dismay
You could never put things right
-
Well there were no answers
You could never be cured
Two minds within one brain
And the suffering you endured
-
Looking back it’s still a wonder
How you managed without help
Alas, now you’re 6 ft under
At peace from your living hell
-
