Broken

poem by: Allan P Stevens

-
Scattering your ashes upon an open field
I wonder did you ever know how I feel.
Forty two years of frustration and pain
I remember the times you drove me away
-
Secrets and lies kept hidden in your heart
Did you know how much it tore me apart?
Not facing the truth letting sleepy dogs lie
When you passed away, nobody cried
-
Had me believe I was the child your dream
But I was just a part of your fanciful scheme
The anger and hate you aimed at my face
All you wanted was someone to blame
-
Lost and confused with a soul split in two
Just who you were, nobody really knew
Schizophrenic paranoia clouded your mind
Unfortunately for you, life was so unkind?
-
