Medium

poem by: John Salvetti
Written on Dec 08, 2017

What’s the proper medium for a medium mind like mine?
Shall I paint like Pablo Picasso, or do science like Einstein?
Maybe pick up garbage like the garbage that I am.
Clear the clutter Oscar; make some space in that can.
I know I know, my self-worth is in the red;
but all your heavy lifting and convincing can’t carry gold into this head.
Was I born with this deficit? or was it burned in through my skin?
Like cattle being branded by corporate brands and family’s sin.
Does it even matter? We’re all just matter anyway.
I’d like to think when asked - that’s what Einstein would say.
