Fire

poem by: DONALD FRANCIS
Written on Dec 14, 2017

A fire is burning in our life

started by a little spark.

fire is brightly burning

running barefoot in the park.

embers ease your soul at night

while sitting in the dark.

the flames can scorch your heart

with a mate that is not right.

Children energize your life

and make the fire burn bright,

make the fire grow strong or weak

with the way we talk.

we control the fires of life

that linger in our heart

In the flickering firelight,

when our life is in doubt

sitting in our easy chair

watching the fire go out
