Who is Like You

poem by: James Farley
Written on Mar 24, 2018

Good morning,
My love.
Each new day,
As I lay eyes on you,
I say,
I say to myself,
Oh my,
Who is like you?
And of course,
My own response is,
There is none like you,
For I,
I have never laid eyes on anyone like you,
And no one,
No one could step in your shoes,
No one could learn to be you.
Only you are you,
Darling.
And Honey,
Honey, please,
Be not convinced otherwise.
And furthermore,
Yes furthermore,
You,
You should know,
Surely you know, don’t you,
You,
Yes you,
Are needed,
And wanted,
And loved.
How did I find you this morning, you ask.
In truth,
There was beauty,
Yes,
Beauty on the breeze,
As I lay next to you,
As the day dawned,
And then,
Then I saw you,
You,
My, oh my,
Beside me.
And that beauty,
Unique,
Unique only to you,
Drew me closer,
And I leaned over,
Closer,
To behold you,
This morning.
Oh my,
My how I love you,
Darling,
Please know,
And feel it,
Feel it deep within,
As you bask,
Bask in the sunlight,
Today.

Be Silent
