Mountains Serene

poem by: R.T. Aquinas
Written on Apr 12, 2018

After my prayers, I close my eyes and go to sleep
The first things I see are the mountains and the oceans so deep
Though this is not Adam's Earth for it is peaceful and serene
Of this Earth, I glance a glimpse and glean

But Papa, I want to know more.

I see no birds in the sky
Nor are there fish nor beasts too
Not even man was about to be seen
But then this Earth be for who?

But Papa, It's Thee we adore.

This Earth is perfectly pure
Made entirely out of Love
This Earth is uninfected by sin
In the sky now, there be a Dove

Papa, now show me please

The Dove swoops down
And lands on untainted soil
No more Man
No more toil

Papa, I fall to my knees.

I stand next to The Dove
I look about me
There is a garden
And in its centre a Tree

Papa, is this Adam's Earth?

I take a step toward the Tree
I pick its fruit and bite
It's so sweet and succulent
To my surprise, the Dove remains in sight.

The Earth has indeed, but unfortunately it seems that a lot of humanity has not. And we still all suffer from the Original Sin. Thanks Frank.
