Paddling

poem by: R.T. Aquinas
Written on Apr 18, 2018

Paddling in the river. Paddling in the pool.
Paddling in the fountain. Paddling like a fool.
Maria and I would have so much fun
While we were paddling out in the sun.
Cold wet soil between our toes,
When we'd stripped down to our light clothes.
We loved to let the water roll across our feet
And we'd say hello to all the ducks we'd meet.
I'm grown up now, and she's forever young.
It's just not right without her pushing me in and sticking out her tongue.
