Adversity

poem by: Chel Scott
Written on Aug 16, 2018

Do you think I can't hear you laugh,
as you pass me on the street?
Don't you think it hurts me,
to know you have me beat?
I may be a little different than you,
on the outside, that is all,
but still I hear you snigger,
and the names you need to call.
I hope it makes you feel good,
to think you are better than me,
even though, inside, we are the same,
a heart like mine you'll never see.
