Stilletto Blues

Like Hank I walk the floor
Tick tock tick tock
I really do abhor
this useless staring at your chair
oh how I ache to see you there
but must not peep near where you are
for reason shouts
"he went too far!
this man you love does not love you."
As I ask weeping what to do.
Your soft voice was a lamb in spring
the value of it's words:
nothing.
