Mum, where are you

poem by: Lucia Ocean
Written on Sep 28, 2019

You've been gone for so long
I don't know how to go on
You're right in front of me
Just in reach, but out of touch
Mum, I miss you too much

I know you're right there
But all you show is your vacant stare
It's like you're not quite here
Like my reality is a fiction
And you're a character of another's tale.

Some days you're solid and fun
Not today though - today you're gone
Today you're fading as though you're not real.
Dad's worried about you too
Please, this is a wound I need to heal.

Mum, Where are you?
Can someone please tell me: where is my Mum?

I feel your pain, Lucia, but I can't imagine how hard that must be for you. I hope everything gets better for you. Rhys.
