Stranded Alone

"Can anybody hear me?
Is there anybody near me?"
He's trapped inside, all alone.
No place to go and no-one's home.

The lonely boy, he weeps at night,
It's the only way he sleeps at night.
The solitary soldier cries out in fear
He demands to know "Is there anybody out here?"

The young girl sits in a barren household.
Her father gone and her mother old.
She sits in her bedroom, diary open, and puts paper to pen
She writes 'Father, when will I see you again?'

But alas, their calls remain unanswered,
Mere noise in the wind from sorrowful souls, lost and alone.
No-one knows these three, and no-one cares.
No-one will comfort them, because no-one dares.

They all know it's for the best
And for the safety of all the rest.
But they don't know if they can cope,
Let this be over soon, we all must hope.
