A Lady And Her Riches

poem by: Kim Bond

"Well, how do you do kind sir?
Said the lady with a coat made of fur
"I'm very well thank you" said the man
But what was his evil little plan?

As the lady fell in love straight away
He did not for a moment want to stay
But finding out she was different from the rest
With all her riches, could she really be the best?

He knew she had a lot of money
She only wanted to be called his honey
So when he knew, he took a chance
But she thought it was a sweet romance

Little did she know he was lying
To her face and he still kept denying
That all he wanted her for was her money
And not the fact that she was his little honey

So she gave him another chance
To try and save their sweet romance
But again to him it was just a game
And all he wanted was fortune and fame

So she decided to hatch a little plan
So that some day she would destroy this man
And he would be the silly fool
Sitting on a wooden stool

Yes this lady was rich but fast
Little did he know of her secret past
When she was able to figure out
What all the problems were about

So she will make sure to send him running
Don't you know that she is cunning?
Like a sly fox on a winter's night
She will be behind you ready to fight!
