The Calm

poem by: D'Vina Dietrich
Written on Jun 20, 2021

Gentle waves hitting the shore
A cool breeze caresses my hair
Stars reflecting from the water

It was a calm night
So so long ago
When everything was different

Before everything erupted
And everything crumbled
Leaving pieces everywhere

Maybe I'll return one night
Play with the sand
And stare at the stars.
