THE MYSTERY BOOK

Chapter 1:
Honey Kitten was sadly staring out the window inside her mom’s ice cream shop.
 When the gang walked in

“Hey Honey!” How’s it going?” Vicky Dragonfly asked her smiling.
But Honey didn’t answer her back
“Earth to Honey!” Come in Honey, your tail is on fire!”
Vicky Dragonfly jokingly added
“What!” Honey cried out before she jumped up from her seat
“Just kidding,
but you looked so deep off into space that I needed to snap you out of it somehow!”
 Vicky laughed
“Sorry, I guess I was just deep in thought.
That I didn’t even notice when you guys, came in.” Honey mumbled
“What’s the matter?” Cookie asked her.
Honey opened her book bag and slowly took out a leather bounded book that looked old
And placed it on top of the table

“A few days ago I was helping my mom by working out front.
When a scruffy looking old fox came into the shop
“I felt a little bad for him, because I didn’t think he had any money.
So, I offered him a free minty shake, but he refused and seemed upset by the offer
And told me that if he wanted a shake he’d just buy one.
He was about to walk out when I stopped him from leaving.” Honey began
“Why did you stop him?” He could’ve been dangerous.”
 Sammy Turtle interrupted her
“I don’t think so, I think he was homeless or something.”
 Honey shrugged
“Besides he seemed friendly enough.
That’s why I didn’t want him to leave feeling upset, so I told him,
I was just about to have one myself
And made to much.
I guess he felt weird afterwards since before he left he told me,
that he’d be right back with his payment
“The shop got busy and I forgot about him, until he walked in and gave me this book.
I told him that he didn’t have to but he insisted
I thought it was a little strange but he took off before I got a chance to thank him.”
 She added
“Oh wow, that was very nice of you.
But I don’t get why you look so bummed out.” Daisy Penguin asked her
“At first I was pretty excited and couldn’t wait to go home to read it.
But when I got home and opened the book there wasn’t any writing in it.”
Honey told her
What! They all cried out
“How can a book have no writing in it?” Tommy Cub frowned
“See for yourself.”
Honey shrugged before she pushed the book closer to him.
Tommy picked up the book and began flipping through it
“That is weird.
I wonder why he’d gave you a book that was full of blank pages.”
 He frowned
“That’s what I’ve been trying to figure out.” Honey answered him
“Hey, maybe it’s not really a book but more like a journal or something like that.
That’s why all the pages are blank.” Sammy told her.
Honey shook her head
“I thought that too. But I don’t why but I get a funny feeling that’s not.”

Vicky picked up the book and took another look at it
“I’ve an idea,
why don’t we go tomorrow morning to that old book store?
that’s around the corner from main street.
Maybe they can tell us more about this book.”

Chapter 2:
The next morning, they meet back at the ice cream shop then headed out to the book store.
When they walked inside it took them a minute to get used the dim lights
Vicky was about to call out. When a voice from behind them interrupted
“Hello kids, how can I help you this morning?”

Honey took out her book out of her book bag and handed it to him
“I got this book yesterday but there’s no writing in it.” She told him.
The old book store owner frowned as he took the book from Honey and opened it
“Is this some kind of joke?”
Cause if it’s I don’t have time to be playing games with you kids
“Now if you’d excuse me— “
“Huh?” But we’re not playing any games!” Honey interrupted
“And I suppose as soon as you walked in the words just magical appeared?”
 The old book owner smirked
“Yes!”
You’ve to believe us all the pages inside the book were blank yesterday!”
 Honey yelled out.
The old book store owner didn’t answer her back.
He just gave her an angry disappointing look as he handed the book back.
Then walked away mumbling to himself

“What just happened?” Sammy asked once they were outside the store.
Honey opened the book and began reading the words inside of it out loud

AS YOU READ THIS KNOW THAT YOU’VE BEEN WISELY CHOOSEN
BY THE POWER OF THIS BOOK. IT’LL BE YOU GUIDE AND YOUR PROTECTOR
AS YOU THE CHOOSEN ONE WILL SOON SOLVE THE MYSTERY OF WHAT IT WRITES

Shortly afterwards they were gathered inside their clubhouse.
All lost within their thoughts
Honey took her book out again and slowly opened it.
Yet again another page had writing on it
While the others remained blank.
She gave them a scared look before she began reading out loud

THOU OUR TIME IS AGAINST US. IT STILL NEEDS YOUR HELP
SO, HURRY YOUNG CHOOSEN ONE AND HEAD TOWARDS THE WOODEN AREA
BEHIND THE OLD CHURCH YARD
AND IT’LL BE REVEAL

“Okay, this is getting way to creepy!”
Maybe I should just tell my mom about what’s going on or maybe I should just hide the book somewhere and forget all about it.”
Honey told them after she finished
“My vote goes for the second idea.
I think you shouldn’t open it again and just forget all about it.”
 Sammy agreed smiling
“Or we can go and see what’s out there.” Cookie added
“I agree.
Sure, it’s a little strange and creepy but we’ve dealt with strange and creepy before
“And found some really cool stuff while helping those who need it.”
 Daisy also added
Then after talking it over farther they all agreed that they’d take on the case

Chapter 3:
That Saturday afternoon they all meet inside of the ice cream shop.
All excited to start on their new adventure
“I still ain’t a hundred percent sure that this is such a good idea.”
Sammy told them before slurping the last of his shake
“We know, we know dude,
we go through this every time we start working on a new case.”
 Tommy jokingly smiled

A few minutes later they were exploring the woods behind the old church
“Guys, I think we’ve been had.
There’s nothing out here expect some over grown creepy trees.” Sammy whined
“And an old abounded house.” Tommy added
Huh?

They turned around to see what he was pointing at.
The old house was almost out of sight since it was hidden behind two big trees
“So, now what?” Sammy asked them
“I guess, we go inside and look around.” Honey shrugged
“What!” I don’t want to go in there!”
The book never said anything about us going inside some creepy old house.”
 Sammy cried out
“Calm down Sammy, we’ll just take a quick look then leave.
Maybe we can find a clue that can help us figure out what the book is trying to tell us.”
 Vicky told him
“Yah Sammy, we’ve a better chance of Casper, opening the door and welcoming us in.
 then anything bad really happening.”
Tommy joked as he headed for the front door.

 He twisted the front door,
which creaked opened as they slowly walked into the old house
Which had seen better day
There was dust and dirt everywhere
and the windows were so dirty that hardly no light could come through them
“Oh wow!” And my mom complains that my room is messy!”
Cookie joked as she and the others looked around.
They entered a room that they believed must’ve been the living room
Since it had a broken chandelier hanging sideways from the ceiling
“This place is a dump!” There’s no way that we’re going to find anything in this mess.”
Sammy whined. And before any of them could answer him back
A loud bang coming from the other room caused them all to jump

They walked into the room that had two large book shelves.
That were over filled with old dusty cover books.
They walked farther into the room
and noticed that there were books lying in the middle of the floor

“Whoa, I don’t think that these books were dropped by accident.”
Honey whispered over to them. Before she went over to one and picked it up
“Honey, this place is a complete dump.
There are books scattered all over the place how could you know that?”
 Sammy frowned
“I can’t really explain it. But I just get a funny feeling that it wasn’t.”
 Honey shrugged
“Well, I hate to disagree but— “Sammy began
“I almost gave up hope that you’d ever arrive. Did you bring it?”
A voice from behind them interrupted Sammy
“Whoa, where did you come from?”
 Tommy cried out
startled to see a scruffy looking fox staring at them with a strange look on his face
“It’s you!” Honey suddenly yell out once she recognized that it was the same fox
Who gave her the book
“What are you doing out here?” Do you live here?”
“Now, now, the only thing that matters is that you finally came.
Did the book tell you to?”
 The old fox answered
“Umm, I don’t mean to be rude.
“But who are you and why did you give me that book?”
 Honey asked frowning

“The answers to your questions are not important.
Now if you don’t mind can I’ve it back?” The old fox smirked.
Honey suddenly felt very uncomfortable and by the look on her friend’s faces
She could tell that they felt the same way also
“Oh sorry, but I didn’t bring it with me. But if you’d like I can go get it for you.”
She shrugged

Chapter 4:
She started to turn around when the old fox’s suddenly outburst caused them all to jump
“I strongly advise Honey, that it won’t be very wise for you to lie to me.
I never told you that the book was yours
“I simply just left it accidently.
I’ll give you until tomorrow afternoon to return back here.”
 The old fox growled.
And before any of the gang could respond
A bright light filled the room and when it cleared the old fox was gone

An hour later they were all gathered
inside of Honey’s bedroom discussing what just happened
“I don’t even know why we’re even talking about this.
We’ll just return his dumb book back to him and be done with it.”
 Sammy whined
“But if we do that. we’d never know what this case was even about.”
 Vicky told him
Cookie nodded in agreement
“Yah, I don’t believe that he simply just left the book behind by accident.
I think the book was behind it somehow, that’s why he was at the house looking for it
“And when he saw us, he put it together.
But the question is why? Why does he want it back so badly?” She added

Honey pulled out her book and opened it
“There’s new writing in it.” She told them excitedly
“What does it say?” Daisy asked Honey
“Weird, it just reads everything that we’ve done and said from the beginning.
 I don’t know guys,
This is getting creepy. Maybe I should just give it back.” Honey answered
“That would be a bad idea Honey,
the book is trying to tell you something and has picked you to help solve it.
It would be a shame to just stop now.” Vicky added
“I guess you’re right.
I’m just spook, okay, let’s put our brains together and see if we can figure this out.”
Honey smiled. She then reopened the book and laughed
“I guess the book liked our idea of not giving up, check it out!”
She cried out before she began reading out loud:

IT’S CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD THAT YOU’RE FEELING FRIGHTING MY YOUNG CHILD
BUT HAVE NO FEAR, FOR NO HARM WILL COME TO YOU NOR ANY OF YOUR FRIENDS
YOU’VE PERFECTLY DONE A GOOD JOB OF PROTECTING THIS BOOK.
FROM FALLING OR STAYING IN THE WRONG PAWS
JUST AS I BELIEVED YOU’D.
FOR THOSE WHO PROTECTS IT AND SOLVES THIS BOOK MYSTERY
WILL BE SOON REWARDED WITH MANY BLESSFUL RICHES

“Whoa!” Tommy whistled. Honey smiled then continued reading

ALL WILL SOON BE REVEALED UNTIL THEN REMAIN HAVING PATIENCE AND FAITH

“Oh great, just when I thought we were going to get some real answers.
 All it leads to were
More riddles and questions.” Honey sighed
“I think I know where we can find those answers.” Vicky suddenly smiled

Chapter 5:
The next afternoon the gang decided to return to the old house
In hopes of finding clues. Instead of the old fox waiting for them
They slowly made their way back to the room, in where they found the two
Large book shelves
When a loud noise suddenly caught their attention

WAS IT THE OLD FOX?
OR
DID THE BOOK SUDDENLY WARNED THEM TO TURN BACK?

To be continued…..
