A real gentleman

story by: Ellen Early

A real gentleman will treat a woman like a lady, even when she's not acting like one
He will show grace in the face of rejection
Not manipulations in hopes of reprisal
A real gentlemans confidence
Leaves little room for comparison
He will promote the one he loves
Not remind her that he's the only one
That's loveable
His jealousy doesn't burn
But accepts the compliment
That his woman is "fine"
He takes pleasure in her happiness
Even risking his own, that she might know
He's aware of her humanity
A gentleman will extend his hand
Not his fist
Knowing violence only provocates
A lack of self control
He will always open a door, excuse himself
See your beauty because
Your a woman not having to argue
Your self worth
A gentleman will believe in the love you have to give
Not the love he thinks he's entitled to.
